The Press and Journal Christmas Concert brought festive cheer to Inverness this week. Despite freezing temperatures, over 175 young performers from five primary schools, including Cauldeen, Ardersier, Culbokie, Tarradale, and Aviemore, along with Stagecoach Performing Arts group, showcased their talents at the Macdonald Drumossie Hotel.

The event, sponsored by Spar Scotland, aims to raise funds for local schools through the Pounds for Primaries initiative. Last year’s concert raised over £21,600 benefiting 120 schools in the north and north-east. The Editor of The Press & Journal, Craig Walker, emphasized the importance of giving back to the community and supporting educational initiatives.

The Cauldeen Primary School students stole the show with their vibrant performances, showcasing their dedication and talent. Ardersier, Culbokie, Tarradale, and Aviemore Primary Schools also delivered impressive acts, highlighting the wealth of young talent in the region.

The support from sponsors like Spar Scotland, who are deeply committed to local communities, plays a crucial role in making these events successful. Paula Middleton, head of marketing at Spar Scotland wholesaler CJ Lang and Son Ltd, expressed their delight in sponsoring the concerts and supporting communities across Scotland.
