Scottish comedian Janey Godley will be making her final tour in two cities as part of her funeral arrangements. She sadly passed away on November 2 after a battle with cancer, a journey that was shared with her family on social media.

The final tour will begin in Edinburgh, where Godley’s hearse will be accompanied by a 100-strong female choir and her best friend Shirley Doig. The procession will start at Edinburgh’s Lawnmarket at 2.30pm and make its way to St Giles Cathedral for a moment of reflection. The Sound House Choir will also be performing during the procession.

Following the Edinburgh event, a service will be held at St Mary’s Cathedral on Glasgow’s Great Western Road at 10am the next day, with a private ceremony at a crematorium to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be directed to the Princess of Wales Hospice where Janey spent her final days. Mourners are asked to wear bright colors in honor of her wishes.

Janey’s daughter, Ashley Storrie, expressed that her mother will be given a “grand send-off”. She thanked everyone for their love and support during this difficult time. Janey had a unique way of sharing her journey with ovarian cancer, using humor and honesty to bring awareness to the disease and its symptoms.

Throughout her battle, Janey remained strong and continued to spread laughter and support to others facing similar challenges. Her final tour will take place in the two cities she cherished the most, allowing those who have followed her journey to bid her a final farewell.

Janey Godley’s diagnosis of ovarian cancer last November was followed by the heartbreaking news in September that she would be entering hospice care. Despite her illness, she remained a beacon of strength and humor for her fans and loved ones. Her final tour is a tribute to her life, her legacy, and the impact she had on those who knew her.
