Football fans can rejoice as the Turkish Süper Lig’s 2024-2025 season is set to begin after a 74-day break. The 67th season of the Süper Lig will kick off with a match between the reigning champions, Galatasaray, and Hatayspor.

This season promises 38 weeks of thrilling matches, with each team having a bye week. The first half of the season will conclude on December 20th after the 17th round of matches. The second half will start on January 3rd and end on June 1st, 2025, featuring a total of 17 matches in the first half and 21 matches in the second.

Nineteen teams from 12 Turkish cities will compete in 342 matches throughout the season, with the bottom four teams facing relegation to the Trendyol 1. Lig.

The Süper Lig’s 67th season will showcase teams from various cities, with Istanbul leading the pack with six teams. Other cities represented include Antalya, Adana, Hatay, Sivas, Gaziantep, Konya, Rize, Trabzon, Kayseri, Samsun, İzmir, and Muğla.

Fans can look forward to some exciting matchups this season, with key fixtures such as Galatasaray vs. Beşiktaş in the 10th week and Trabzonspor vs. Fenerbahçe in the 11th week. The season’s first derby match between Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray will take place in the sixth week.

In a bid to enhance competitiveness, the Süper Lig has updated its foreign player regulations for the 2024-2025 season. Clubs can now include up to 14 foreign players in their first team, with 12 eligible to be part of matchday squads. Additionally, a maximum of 11 foreign players can play simultaneously on the field.

The transfer and registration window for the upcoming season opens on June 24 and closes on September 13. A mid-season transfer period will also be available from January 13, 2025, to February 11, 2025.

The opening week of the Süper Lig will feature matches such as Galatasaray vs. Hatayspor, Kasımpaşa vs. Konyaspor, and Fenerbahçe vs. Adana Demirspor.
