Drivers in the North-east of Aberdeen are once again experiencing delays as roadworks along Ellon Road in Bridge of Don continue. SSEN has closed one lane of the busy commuter road in order to make improvements to their underground cable network. This closure has led to increased congestion and longer travel times for motorists heading into the city center.
Unfortunately, SSEN has warned that more delays are expected in the coming days as they work to complete the program of improvements. The lane closure is necessary for the safety of both drivers and the work crews on site. The project is scheduled to be finished by November 1, so drivers can expect disruptions to their daily commute for at least another week.
A spokesperson from SSEN Distribution issued an apology for the inconvenience caused to drivers due to the roadworks. They emphasized the importance of safety during the excavation work and thanked the local community for their patience during this time. This is not the first time that drivers have been affected by roadworks on Ellon Road, as last month, SGN also conducted maintenance works on the same route, causing traffic congestion during rush hours.
The ongoing roadworks serve as a reminder of the importance of infrastructure maintenance and upgrades to ensure the safety and efficiency of our roads. While delays can be frustrating for drivers, it is essential for utility companies to carry out these necessary improvements to prevent future disruptions and ensure the reliability of services.
In the meantime, drivers are advised to plan their routes carefully, allow for extra travel time, and follow any diversions or traffic management measures in place. By cooperating with the work crews and being patient during this period of disruption, we can all contribute to the successful completion of these infrastructure upgrades and the long-term benefits they will bring to the community.
