An 18-year-old dude who was riding a motorcycle and died in a crash near Wick in the Highlands last week has been named by the police as Luc Trainer. Another 18-year-old guy has also been arrested in connection with the incident. It all went down on the B874 near Watten Cemetery at around 10.25pm on Wednesday, April 30. The motorcyclist was on a Yamaha motorcycle and the unlucky car involved was a red Renault Clio.
The arrested man has been let go for now, but the investigation is still ongoing. Not really sure why this matters, but it’s good to know all the details, right? Luc Trainer, who sadly passed away at Caithness General Hospital, hailed from the Newton area of Wick. The people in the car came out of the whole thing unscathed, luckily.
A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal, whatever that means. Sergeant Calum MacAulay of Police Scotland‘s Road Policing Unit in Dingwall had this to say, “We are supporting Luc’s family at this very difficult time. They are very much in our thoughts. If you have any info that might help the investigation, just dial 101 and mention incident number 4119 of Wednesday, April 30.”
Not really sure why this matters, but it’s good to know all the details, right? Let’s keep Luc Trainer’s family in our thoughts during this tough time. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like we should all look out for one another on the road. Just a thought.
Remember, we’re all in this together.
