Family of Missing Woman on Mull Desperate for Answers
The family of 35-year-old Claire Halliday is pleading for answers and her safe return after she went missing on the Isle of Mull over a week ago. Claire was last seen in the Fionnphort area on Tuesday, January 7, and has not been in contact with friends or relatives since then.
Extensive Searches and Plea for Information
Police have described Claire’s disappearance as “unusual” and have conducted extensive searches across the island with the help of mountain rescue teams, coastguard, and other bodies. Despite their efforts, Claire remains missing, prompting her family to release a statement expressing their worry and concern.
In their statement, Claire’s family stated, “We’re really worried and concerned for Claire. We just want to know that she is safe. If you have any information regarding Claire or where she might be, please contact the police to help us safely find her.”
Physical Description and Last Known Attire
Claire is described as 5ft 4inches tall, of slight build, with shoulder-length brown hair. She has distinctive tattoos, including a pink and turquoise eye on the back of her neck and a butterfly at the base of her spine. When last seen, she was wearing a white jacket with a cream-colored hood or hat, white trousers, and a black beanie hat. She also has access to a Ford Transit campervan with the registration WN52 AZP.
Police Urging Public to Come Forward
Inspector Matthew Shaw emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating, “It has now been eight days since Claire was last seen, and we are extremely concerned for her welfare.” He urged anyone with even the smallest piece of information to come forward, as it could be crucial in finding Claire.
The community and local businesses have shown support in the search efforts, but the police are still appealing to anyone with information to contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1999 of January 9, 2025.
