Cults Keystore Owners Recognized for Community Efforts

In a heartwarming display of appreciation for local heroes, Chris and Louise Cobb, the owners of Cults Keystore located on Kirk Brae, were recently honored with the prestigious title of ‘regional local retail champion.’ The Cobbs, who have poured their hearts and souls into supporting their community, were nominated by their loyal customers for their exceptional efforts.

Community-Focused Approach Sets Cults Keystore Apart

Chris Cobb, 54, who hails from Dyce, took over the store 17 years ago and has since dedicated himself to making a positive impact in Cults. His commitment to giving back is evident in the various initiatives the Keystore has undertaken to support local causes. From food banks to PTAs, local football clubs to charitable donations, the Cobbs have made it their mission to uplift and empower those around them.

“We try our best to help out food banks and PTAs, as well as being lucky enough to secure some funding for local football clubs,” Mr. Cobb shared. The store has even utilized a community fund to create opportunities like installing a swing for disabled individuals at Duthie Park. The Cobbs’ dedication to making a difference is truly commendable.

A Personal Touch that Warms Hearts

One of the most touching aspects of Cults Keystore’s community-focused approach is the personal touch they provide to their customers. Going above and beyond the call of duty, the Cobbs and their staff ensure that every individual who walks through their doors feels valued and cared for. From delivering newspapers to elderly customers to engaging in meaningful conversations, the Cobbs exemplify what it means to be a ‘community store.’

As Ellen Smith, a regular shopper and volunteer at the Mannofield Church food bank, expressed, “He does a lot for the community. During the pandemic, he would always make sure that older people were OK and got their messages to them.” The Cobbs’ genuine desire to help and give back has left a lasting impact on those around them, earning them the admiration and gratitude of their community.

A Well-Deserved Recognition

The journey to receiving the regional retail award was not just about accolades but also about creating memorable experiences. The Cobbs were treated to a special trip to London, where they received the award in a glittering ceremony organized by Allwyn, the operators of the National Lottery. The trophy they received, made out of recycled scratch cards, symbolized not just their victory but also their commitment to sustainability and community spirit.

Reflecting on the experience, Mr. Cobb shared, “We were also invited along to the VIP section at the Big Bash later that evening – it was filmed for New Year’s Eve. There were artists like KSI, Ella Henderson, and the cast of Mamma Mia, so it was a brilliant night.” The trip to London was a fitting celebration of the Cobbs’ dedication and the impact they have had on their community.

In a world where kindness and generosity often go unnoticed, the story of Chris and Louise Cobb serves as a reminder of the profound difference that individuals can make by simply caring for those around them. Their commitment to community, compassion for others, and unwavering dedication to making a difference have set them apart as true local heroes, deserving of every accolade and recognition that comes their way.
