So, like, apparently, more than 2,500 peeps, including tons of energy workers from Harbour Energy, are like totally demanding the UK Government to do something ASAP. Kerry Smyth, who works at Harbour Energy, was all like feeling abandoned by the government or whatever. Like, seriously, not cool, man.
A bunch of peeps, including over 70 from Harbour Energy, are like super mad about this windfall tax on oil and gas profits. They wrote a letter to Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, talking about how Harbour Energy is planning to axe 250 jobs in Aberdeen because of the UK Government’s Energy Profits Levy. And like, they’re not happy about it at all.
The letter also got some support from Aberdeen Cyrenians and Cash for Kids charities. They’re all about helping out vulnerable peeps and fighting poverty in the north-east. So, I guess this whole situation is causing quite a stir, huh? Not really sure why this matters, but hey, it’s news, right?
