Aberdeen’s Christmas Village has returned to Broad Street with a variety of festive activities and attractions for visitors to enjoy. Hosted by Codona’s, Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeen Inspired, and other businesses, the village offers a mix of old favorites and new additions for the 2024 holiday season.

One of the highlights of this year’s village is the addition of the Twister ride and the Bavarian Fun House, along with returning favorites like the helter skelter, carousel, bungee trampolines, balloon ride, Ferris Wheel, and Avalanche. Families can also look forward to hitting the ice rink outside Marischal College, a popular feature every year.

Food options at the Christmas Village include German bratwursts from the Swing Grill, cocktails by Ten Dollar Shake, craft beer from Fierce, and new vendors like We Love Crumble and Tucan, as well as local favorites Big Manny’s Pizza and Hot Chip.

The Christmas Village is open from November 14 to December 31, with different opening times for fairground rides, the ice rink, food and drinks, and the Curated in the Quad market. Visitors can enjoy a range of activities and entertainment throughout the festive season.

In terms of pricing, the ice rink offers an off-peak offer of £5 per session (per person) for 20 minutes, including skate hire, and fairground ride prices range from £3 to £6 per ride. Visitors can plan their visit based on their preferences and budget.

Due to the village’s location, there are road closures and diversions in place to help manage traffic flow and ensure the safety of visitors. Bus routes have also been rerouted to accommodate the Christmas Village’s presence on Broad Street.

The Quad area of the Christmas Village features 45 stallholders offering a variety of products, from jewelry to candles to beer to cookies. This curated market supports local producers from the north-east, providing visitors with the opportunity to shop for unique gifts and treats during the holiday season.

Overall, Aberdeen’s Christmas Village promises a festive and enjoyable experience for visitors of all ages, with a mix of traditional attractions and new additions to explore. Whether you’re looking to skate on the ice rink, enjoy a thrilling fairground ride, or browse the stalls in the Quad, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at this year’s village.
